Family legends, sometimes called family lore, are a natural part of genealogy. Nebraska’s Genealogy Over Lunch group will examine these legends in an 11:30 a.m. Jan. 18 meeting in Love Library South, Room 318.

The discussion, which will be led by Eve Bachman, will examine how these stories can be analyzed for truthfulness. Participants are encouraged to bring a family legend and the discoveries made to discern the accuracy of the tale.

Organized by the University Libraries, the group aims to help students, faculty and staff explore and organize family histories. Participants are encouraged to share their surprising finds while searching for relatives.

Genealogy Over Lunch is open to the entire campus community. Participants can bring a lunch to the hour-long gatherings.
