The Bureau of Sociological Research has started planning data collection for the 2024 Winter Nebraska Annual Social Indicators Survey.
Space will be limited on the summer NASIS administrations to keep questionnaires short and decrease burden on respondents, so researchers are encouraged to use the winter NASIS to collect their data.
Researchers are invited to consider adding questions for their own research objectives to this survey. Costs are $7,500 per page this year and are prorated if less than a page is used. This omnibus survey is a valuable source of information on the opinions and behaviors of adult household residents in Nebraska. Researchers who include questions will obtain data on their items as well as all of the NASIS core items.
NASIS is a probability-based mail and web survey with expected results from around 1,000 Nebraska adults. It has been conducted annually since 1977 and is recognized by researchers, state agencies and legislators as a scientific way to measure public opinion and behaviors regarding various issues that face Nebraskans. BOSR works with interested researchers to develop NASIS survey items that will suit researchers’ needs and interests. It is a cost-effective way to obtain valuable survey data. The expense for obtaining basic background contextual and demographic information (such as age, sex, family and employment information) is shared by all participating researchers.
If interested in purchasing survey questions, or simply have questions about possible involvement, contact Amanda Ganshert at aganshert@unl.edu. Amanda will review research needs and discuss how NASIS might be used to meet them. Visit the NASIS website for more information about the survey.
Data collection is scheduled to begin January 2024 with client data delivered in May 2024. In order to stay on this timeline, BOSR would like to initiate discussions with prospective clients as soon as possible and no later than Nov. 1.
