Mirroring the patriotic spirit of the nation’s 242nd birthday on July 4, this 360-degree video by NET Nebraska explores the red, white and blue quilts of documentarian Ken Burns.
The quilts were on display earlier this year at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s International Quilt Study Center and Museum. Though no longer showing, this video offers an inspirational review of the history behind quilting in America.
In the spirit of the sacrifice that brings freedom, the quilt museum is currently showing “War and Pieced,” an exhibition that features quilts made by soldiers, sailors and regimental tailors. The exhibition of items from the Annette Gero Collection of Quilts from Military Fabrics, shows through Sept. 16.
