Premier Catering to serve events in Nebraska Unions, Gaughan Center

Lincoln-based Premier Catering has been named the exclusive caterer for events in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Nebraska Union and Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center.

Premier replaces Chez Hay Catering, which held the catering rights since August 2010. Chez Hay will continue to cater events in the two buildings through Sept. 5.

Charlie Francis, director of the Nebraska Unions, said Premier will replace University Dining Services as the caterer for events in the East Union starting in summer 2016.

The new contract also allows groups to select other caterers/food providers for events that will draw 30 or fewer participants.

“Previously, all events — regardless of size — were required to use the services of our catering partner,” Francis said. “Customer feedback showed that there needed to be a flexibility for these smaller events. So, we decided to allow other vendors to provided services.”

The initial term of the contract with Premier is through June 30, 2020, with the ability to extend services for no more than 10 years.

“We look forward to this new partnership with Premier and providing the university with top-notch catering services in our facilities,” Francis said.
