The Nebraska Water Center and Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District is doing a 2025 Natural Resources Tour, Feb. 2-7. Participants will experience urban water management, winter agriculture, and transboundary aquifer management, going behind the scenes and with experts to get a first-hand look at water and natural resources in the American Southwest.

Registration is now open and includes meals, five nights of hotels, commercial transportation, on-board refreshments, and activities from 5 p.m. on Feb. 2 through noon on Feb. 7. There will be one meal students have to pay for. The tour will begin and end in Phoenix, Arizona.

Prices are $1,440 per person for a single occupancy room and $1,365 per person for a double occupancy room.

Register online and pay with a credit card online. To pay with a check, register via mail by printing the registration form.

Participants will learn from experts in Phoenix, Maricopa, and Yuma and see first-hand how water and natural resources are managed in Arizona. The tour gives you exclusive access to research facilities, test farms, and tribal management of water and natural resources. Students will also see a day in the life of the farm workers that produce 90% of the United States' winter vegetables — including the 5 a.m. start time and breakfast burritos in the field.
