Registration for Husker Kids, a recreational day camp for children entering first to sixth grades and hosted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Campus Recreation Center, opens Feb. 2.

The center offers fun recreational, sport and lifetime activities throughout nine sessions that run throughout June and July. Its goal is to provide a supportive and enjoyable environment where learning and fun can go hand in hand. Specific sport instruction is not a goal of the camp. Special attention is paid to the age and skill level of each camper.

All camps offer age-appropriate activities, a maximum camper-to-staff ratio of 12 to one, and professionals and college students on staff.

Specific sessions and their dates include:

  • Session One, June 1-5
  • Session Two, June 8-13
  • Session Three, June 15-19
  • Session Four, June 22-26
  • Session Five, July 6-10
  • Session Six, July 13-17
  • Session Seven, July 20-24
  • Session Eight, July 27-31

Registrations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and each camp session has a limited number of participant openings. Each camp will accept registrations until the camper/counselor ratio is met or until noon on the Friday prior to the start of each camp session. Registrations on or after the Wednesday prior to the start of a session will incur a $25 late fee.
