Assembling a roster of scholars, educators and experts from the university and Lincoln Public Schools, SciComm 2016 will offer insights on effectively communicating scientific research and fostering science literacy.
The two-day event will include:

Keynote address from TED speaker Melissa Marshall
Science Night Live!, a free science outreach event at Lincoln’s Railyard district, where Husker researchers and SciComm participants will share their work with the public
A free workshop, developed in collaboration with the National Alliance for Broader Impacts, for scholars interested in learning to highlight the potential applications and societal impacts of proposed research
Organized by Nebraska’s Matt Wilkins, a postdoctoral researcher in biological sciences, this year’s conference has already attracted registrants from across the United States. There is no registration fee for the Sept. 23 workshop or Science Night Live! A $20 fee grants entry to the Sept. 24 symposium, which will include lunch.
