Ross playing 'Crying Earth Rise Up' as part of Native American Film Series


The Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center and Vision Maker will present "Crying Earth Rise Up," a 2014 Native American short film, at 7:25 p.m. April 14.

The film, about a Lakota mother studying geology seeking the source of water contamination that might have caused her daughter's health problems and a Lakota grandmother fighting uranium mining, is part of a larger Native American Film Series showing at the Ross.

A talk with with Daniel Snow, research professor in the Nebraska Water Center, and Arindam Malakar, moderated by Vision Maker Media’s Alana Stone, will follow the showing.

Free screenings from the Vision Maker Media public broadcasting archives are shown on the second Monday of each month in 2024.
