Student Affairs Center for Civic Engagement is hosting two service-learning trips March 18-23, during spring break.
The “Service-Study: Act, Serve, Become” trips are in Heart Mountain, Wyoming, and Denver, Colorado. The application deadline is Feb. 24.
Participants learn about empowerment, resettlement and the internment of American minority groups and refugees as they serve organizations working to preserve history and empower minority populations.
The objectives of a service break are to engage college students in community-based service projects and to give students opportunities to learn about the social issues faced by members of communities with whom they otherwise may have had little or no direct contact. Participants will be completely immersed into diverse environments, allowing them to experience, discuss and understand social issues.
