Chancellor Ronnie Green will deliver his annual State of the University address to faculty, staff, students and the community at 11 a.m. Sept. 19 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts, 301 N. 12th St.
The address traditionally outlines priorities for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the coming year while addressing major accomplishments during the previous academic year.
It will be the second State of the University address for Green, who was named the 20th chancellor in the history of the university on April 6, 2016. During his inaugural 2016 address, Green emphasized smart growth for the university as it focuses upon becoming a distinctive Big Ten university.
The university will continue the tradition of honoring employee service at the address. Employees reaching 45- and 50-year milestones this year will join the chancellor on the Lied Center stage to be honored.
In lieu of a pre-ceremony honoring all service award winners, the university will join with colleges, departments and units in recognizing their honorees at various events during the fall semester.
