State supreme court convenes at College of Law

The Nebraska Supreme Court will be in session on the campus of the University of Nebraska College of Law on Feb. 5, in the auditorium of McCollum Hall. The justices will hear five cases beginning at 9 a.m., followed by a question and answer session with students.

The supreme court travels to each of the state’s law schools for the purpose of making the court’s business accessible to students on their campuses. Justices spend time after the argument sessions talking to students about the appellate process and career opportunities as lawyers. Cases are selected to demonstrate the variety of legal arguments that face the court system on a regular basis.

In preparation for arguments, case summaries are distributed to students and available online.
