The Department of Athletics and IMG College, the leader in multimedia rights in college sports, have agreed to significant enhancements to their rights agreement supporting Nebraska athletics programs, a relationship that has existed since 2006.
Included in the amendments approved earlier today by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents, is an increase in guaranteed payments to the university from $50.5 to $72 million over the remaining six years of the agreement and additional sponsorships and digital/social media rights to IMG College.
Under the agreement, IMG College’s Husker Sports Network will continue to manage and market all sponsorship and media rights associated with Husker athletic programs, including access to university marks/logos, experiential platforms, live game and shoulder radio programming, coaches’ TV and radio shows, program sales, digital platforms, and publications.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from our long partnership with IMG and we are extremely pleased to have enhanced our relationship moving forward,” Director of Athletics Shawn Eichorst said. “We believe that Nebraska Athletics is one of the premier brands in college athletics and we are honored to partner with a world-class entity like IMG.”
“The University of Nebraska is an outstanding institution and a key property in IMG’s national platform,” said Ben Sutton, chairman and president of IMG College. “We remain very excited to serve Nebraska Athletics, supporting the school’s industry-leading efforts in presenting the very best fan and student-athlete experience that brings ever-increasing value to sponsors.”
