Intimate partner violence impacts health outcomes and economic stability for survivors and addressing health and economic needs can help to prevent intimate partner violence re-victimization. In this presentation, research on community-based economic and health strategies will be shared, along with implementation strategies.
Wood is a professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston McGovern Medical School and director of research and evaluation at the Center for Violence Prevention. Her scholarship focuses on community, economic and school-based intimate partner violence, dating violence, stalking, elder abuse and sexual assault prevention and intervention approaches across the lifespan. Her program of research includes intervention development and testing, program evaluation, longitudinal and community-based methods. Wood is a mixed methods researcher and social work practitioner.
