YWCA director to headline nonprofit career event

Karen Bell-Dancy, executive director of YWCA of Lincoln, will present the keynote speech at this year’s Meet the Nonprofits event, 1 to 2:30 p.m. April 2 in the Nebraska Union Ballroom.

Bell-Dancy has led the YWCA of Lincoln since 2016 and was the first African-American to hold the position. She has over 30 years of experience at various levels of the education system, including six years as the director of distance education at Nebraska.

Meet the Nonprofits, hosted by Career Services, is an event designed provide insight into the world of nonprofits and answer students’ career-related questions while connecting them with professionals from a variety of organizations.

More than 12 nonprofit employers from around Nebraska and the Midwest, including YMCA of Nebraska, Arbor Day Foundation and CEDARS, will be present at the event to offer their knowledge about the field.
