The University Bookstore will offer faculty and staff appreciation days from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4.

The annual event — which offers snacks, refreshments and a 20 percent discount on select merchandise to faculty and staff — has grown to include a publication showcase from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Dec. 3. The event will feature UNL faculty and staff who have recently published books.

The showcase will include six authors who will be available to sign copies of their new books. Campus authors who will attend and their books are: Joy Castro, “How Winter Began;” Parks Coble, “China’s War Reporters: The Legacy of Resistance Against Japan;” Karen Shoemaker, “The Meaning of Names” (the 2016 One Book, One Nebraska selection); and Steve Smith, “Forever Red: More Confessions of a Cornhusker Fan.” Other authors who will attend and sign their books are NASA astronaut Clayton Anderson, “Ordinary Spaceman,” and Scott Winter, “Nebrasketball.”
