Celebration of Fela Kuti music, message at Love Library

Celebrate the life and music of Fela Kuti at Felabration from 5 to 7 p.m. April 1 in Love Library's Peterson Room.

Kuti was a human rights activist who helped develop the Afro-beat music genre.

Also celebrating Kuti, Dawne Curry, professor of history and ethnic studies, and Chigozie Obioma, professor of literature and creative writing, will lead the discussion “Fela Kuti Was a Warrior: His Music and His Message.” This event will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. April 6, also at Love Library's Peterson Room.
