Internationally-known artists will perform during NET Radio’s “Friday Live” special from the Lied Center for Performing Arts on May 16.

The event opens at 9 a.m. in the Lied Center’s Steinhart Room. Performers include Flamenco guitarist Daniel Martinez, jazz vocalist Jackie Allen and classical pianist and Lied Center artistic director Ann Chang.

Other guests include recording artist Mary Carrick of Omaha and couture milliner Margie Trembley of Springfield. Susan Cook of Homestead National Monument will bring news of the May 24 fiddling and acoustic band competition and Tracy Tucker of the Willa Cather Foundation will discuss the 59th Spring Conference in June.

Complimentary coffee and refreshments will also be served beginning at 8:30 a.m. during this free public event. “Friday Live” can be heard live beginning at 9 a.m. on NET Radio or via the NET Radio Nebraska app. Viewers can also watch a live webcast at netNebraska.org/radio.

“NET is one of the most devoted proponents of the fine arts in our community and its listeners are forever dedicated to supporting world-class art here in Lincoln,” Stephan said. “The Lied Center’s 25th anniversary season is packed with marquee artists and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate our season announcement then with our friends at NET and fellow Nebraska citizens who share our passion for the arts.”
