Celebrate the 25th Annual Campuswide Workshops for Graduate Teaching Assistants

UNL will hold its 25th Campuswide Workshops for Graduate Teaching Assistants event on Aug. 18. The event will include a special faculty panel.

More than 425 graduate teaching assistants are scheduled to attend the series of workshops and keynote address in the Nebraska Union. The featured speaker is Terry Doyle, professor at Ferris State University and author of “Helping Students Learn in a Learner-Centered Environment,” who will discuss “Putting the Research on Learning into Practice.” He will also conduct a workshop, “Three Teaching Practices that Optimize Student Learning Opportunities.”

UNL faculty will lead skill-building sessions on a variety of topics, ranging from those for first-time teaching assistants to how experienced teaching assistants can seek professional development opportunities.
