Jazz in June continues with Swing Fever

Swing Fever performance of "Take Five" at Wilderness Ridge in Lincoln.

Swing Fever, a band that includes UNL’s Jerry Renaud, continues the 2015 Jazz in June concert series with a performance today.

The concerts are at 7 p.m. Tuesdays in June in the sculpture garden west of UNL’s Sheldon Museum of Art. Although the Jazz in June concert series is free, those in attendance are encouraged to make a donation of $10 per family to help ensure its continuation.

The event also includes a walking tour of the Love Garden and a market featuring 25 vendors with food, drinks and artisan-made crafts.

The Jazz in June Market, located at 12th and R streets, opens at 5 p.m. The walking tour, led by Ann Powers, landscape assistant with Landscape Services, begins at 6 p.m. at the Sheldon’s east entrance. Powers will discuss the perennials, new additions and maintenance of Love Garden, which is located on the south side of Love Library.

Swing Fever will play a mix of New Orleans-inspired music, ranging from traditional to modern sounds of the Crescent City. Members of the Lincoln band include Renaud, professor of broadcasting, Gene Davis, Eric Tombs and Pance Zaev.

UNL BikeValet offers free secure parking for bikes from 5 p.m. to an hour after each Jazz in June concert. The BikeValet service is offered at 13th and R streets, at the east end of the Jazz in June market.
