Lecture to explore Czech, Slovak Americans during WWII

Visiting scholar Vladimir Polach will discuss his research in a 3:30 p.m. April 12 lecture in the Nebraska Union (room posted).

The talk, "Czech and Slovak Americans During World War II: Ethnicity, Patriotism and Sacrifice," is sponsored by the UNL research committee and Department of History.

Polach is the vice-dean for infrastructure and professor of Czech language and literature at Palacky University in the Czech Republic. He was the inaugural Frank A. Belousek Distinguished Scholar and Visiting Professor in the Department of History in 2015. He has previously done research on the history of Czech culture and Czech migration in the 20th century.
