The Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center will host a live broadcast of Rossini’s “Barber of Seville” at 11:55 a.m. Nov. 22. An encore performance will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 23.
The performance is part of the “The Met: Live in HD” series of live broadcasts from New York City’s Metropolitan Opera House.
The Met’s production of Rossini’s classic comedy, which features some of the most instantly recognizable melodies in all of opera, stars Isabel Leonard as the feisty Rosina, Lawrence Brownlee as her conspiring flame and Christopher Maltman as the endlessly resourceful and charming barber. Michele Mariotti conducts the vivid and tuneful score that runs approximately 3 hours and 25 minutes.
Tickets are $24 for general admission, $22 for senior citizens, $17 for Friends of the Ross, $16 for students and children, $6 for Nebraska Wesleyan Students with a valid student ID, and $5 for UNL students with a valid NCard.
