Students and faculty will soon be able to look up contact information, add classes to their shopping cart or update their contact information from their mobile devices.
MyRED Mobile will join the Nebraska App family at the end of the month, said Steve Booton, associate director in the Office of the University Registrar.
The free app will be available in the iTunes App Store and Google Play for free on March 31 and can be used on phones or tablets.
Apart of the movement toward a more mobile student body, the MyRED Mobile app will allow the UNL community to access their profiles more easily than on a computer.
“The advantage is that (students, faculty and staff) can really do this from anywhere, even between classes,” Booton said.
MyRED Mobile will allow users to:
• Add classes to their shopping cart;
• Drop classes;
• Contact advisors;
• Order transcripts;
• Update personal information;
• Find a map to classes; and
• Download class schedules.
While not all features will be available right away, Booton said users will be able to view their bill, financial aid and grades as soon as the app is launched.
