'Prairie Home Companion' to broadcast from Lied Center

NET Radio will present “A Prairie Home Companion” live from the Lied Center for Performing Arts at 5 p.m. Oct. 19. The sold-out show will feature Garrison Keillor, humorist, storyteller and radio personality, in his trademark red shoes.

The broadcast of the popular weekly public radio series will be heard by four million listeners on more than 600 public radio stations and abroad on America One and the Armed Forces Networks.

The show is sold out, but will be broadcast live on NET Radio, with a rebroadcast airing at 11 a.m. Oct. 20. The show will also be streamed live online at http://www.netnebraska.org.

Joining Keillor on stage will be the Royal Academy of Radio Actors including Sue Scott; the man of 1000 voices, Tim Russell; sound effects wizard, Fred Newman; and the Guy’s All-Star Shoe Band, led by musical director Rich Dworsky. It is anticipated that Keillor will have all the latest news from Lake Wobegon, with help from Private Eye Guy Noir and the Cowboys Dusty and Lefty.
