The Center for Civic Engagement is recruiting for the 2014 UNL Tax Credit Campaign, a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance site. The deadline to register is Dec. 20.
Volunteers — open to students, faculty and staff — serve as tax preparers, greeters or interpreters for the VITA program. The tax return filing season starts in January and ends in early April.
VITA training sessions are 8 a.m. to noon or 1 to 5 p.m. on Jan. 11 in the Center for Civic Engagement, 222 Nebraska Union. Register at http://engage.unl.edu/taxes.
Hours for the UNL VITA site are listed below. Volunteers can attend as many VITA sessions as they wish.
