Effectively managing export controls is the topic of an April 16 seminar hosted by the Office of Research and Economic Development. Registration is required.
UNL faculty, whose research activities are subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, are encouraged to attend. The seminar will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Whittier Research Center, Room 152. Lunch is included.
Export control is a growing area of federal research compliance. The seminar, presented by Marsha Pesch, export control officer at the University of South Florida, will give participants insight on balancing research, teaching and service with federal requirements to safeguard national assets. Activities that may be subject to export control include the sharing and development of products, goods, hardware, software, materials or technology.
Pesch will share what South Florida learned from building and monitoring a university-wide export control program.
