A “Nebraskans in the Cinema” film series organized by UNL’s Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center continues with a 7 p.m. July 23 screening of “Old Yeller.”
Films in the series are shown on the Cube, an outdoor screen located at the Railyard on Canopy Street in Lincoln’s Historic Haymarket. Admission is free. A classic Looney Tunes cartoon will be shown before each film in the series.
The Railyard space includes picnic tables for seating. Individuals can bring folding chairs or blankets to sit on. No outside food or drink (other than water) is permitted.
“Old Yeller” stars Dorothy McGuire as the mom, Katie Coates, in the 1957 Disney film based on the classic Fred Gipson novel. The film is 83 minutes long and is rated G.
Cartoons shown prior to “Old Yeller” will include “Rabbit of Seville” and “One Froggy Evening.”
The series, sponsored by Union Bank and Trust Company, concludes with a July 30 screening of “Up the Down Staircase.”
