Extraterrestrials loom large in the public’s imagination. So it’s no wonder that hundreds of motion pictures feature aliens. In a March 12 talk, UNL associate professor of chemistry Mark Griep will explain what some of the top movies featuring aliens have to say about alien biochemistry.
Griep will lead the discussion at 7 p.m. in Love Library’s Mezzanine Study Room, 201 Love Library South. Griep is the co-author of “ReAction: Chemistry in the Movies,” a scientist’s response to the dark and bright sides of chemistry found in Hollywood films.
The discussion is free and open to the public.
