A retirement reception for Sharon Shannon, administrative technician for Information Technology Services, is 2 to 4 p.m. March 6 a Love Library, Room 403. Shannon was the first point of contact and coordinated student hiring for ITS. She retired on Jan. 5 after 17 years of service to the university.
Shannon enrolled at UNL as a student in 1995, following 14 years as a court stenographer/deputy clerk for the State of Nebraska in Dakota County. She was a student worker in the both the math department and vocational and adult education, then started as a staff secretary with information services.
