The University Health Center is offering flu shots for UNL students, faculty and staff.
The UHC is offering trivalent flu vaccine, which is designed to protect against three different flu viruses. A quadrivalent vaccine — which protects against four flu viruses — will also become available. Delivery of the quadrivalent vaccine has been delayed by the manufacturer.
An announcement will be made to campus when the quadrivalent vaccine becomes available at the UHC.
Flu shot clinics will be 8 to 9 a.m. Oct 10 at the UHC and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 15 in the East Union. Additional clinics in October and November will be announced.
Faculty, staff and students can get a flu shot any time during regular UHC business hours or make an appointment by calling 402-472-5000.
Flu shots are free for UNL students. For faculty and staff, prices are $30 for the trivalent flu vaccine and $35 for the quadrivalent flu vaccine. The UHC will file Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medicare claims for faculty and staff under the wellness benefit. Faculty and staff must have an insurance card at the time of vaccination for a claim to be filed. For all other insurances, an insurance form will be provided.
