Undergraduate research ambassador applications due May 6

The Office of Undergraduate Research is seeking students who have participated in undergraduate research experiences to serve as research ambassadors for the 2016-2017 academic year. Ambassadors represent the Office of Undergraduate Research at various functions and events including on-campus recruiting days, student receptions, class visits, first-year seminars and fall semester check in.

Ambassadors give short presentations to prospective and current students, University of Nebraska-Lincoln faculty and staff and other distinguished visitors about their undergraduate research experiences. Ambassadors are expected to participate in at least three events per semester. Students will not be asked to miss class to participate.

Participants in the Undergraduate Research Ambassador program receive:

  • Pay for your time spent presenting

  • An undergraduate research polo shirt

  • Opportunities to network with UNL faculty, staff, and students

  • Public speaking experience

Any undergraduate researcher may apply. The Office of Undergraduate Research is looking for 10-12 ambassadors with strong communication skills and enthusiasm about the power of undergraduate research. In addition, diversity of majors including the fine and performing arts, humanities and social sciences are wanted.

Applications are due by May 6 and should be submitted to ucare@unl.edu.
