After months of being closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the university’s Husker Pantry is now offering curbside delivery for students in need of food, hygiene items and school supplies.
In-person shopping at the pantry remains on hold. Megan Patel, program coordinator for the Husker Pantry, said the curbside option will allow for safer distribution of items.
“This new system will keep interaction between students and Husker Pantry staff to a minimum, all while continuing to support students’ needs,” Patel said.
Huskers can fill out an online form, available on the pantry’s website, Thursday through Sunday of each week to pick up their desired items the following Wednesday or Thursday. A valid NUID is required. Those picking up items can then wait outside of the north entrance to the University Health Center and call the pantry at 402-472-8975 for their order to be brought outside.
Along with food, hygiene items and school supplies, students can visit the pantry to pick up meal tickets to campus dining centers.
Those interested in picking up items, donating or learning more can visit the Husker Pantry website.
