A giant snowdrop blooms in the gardens on the south side of Love Library. The perennial is one earliest spring flowering bulbs. It is native to Turkey, Macedonia, Bulgaria, southern Ukraine and northeastern Greece.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is launching a plan to protect campus trees prior to the arrival of Emerald Ash Borer. The plan will protect about 10 percent of campus ash trees, including this blue ash on East Campus.

UNL landscape services employees Michael Tomjack (left) and Fred Thorne use a vibrating plow to install new irrigation pipe by the Van Brunt Visitors Center. UNL has started a campuswide upgrade of its irrigation system. When complete, it is projected to decrease campus water usage by at least 20 percent annually.

Construction continues on the new plaza that is part of the Love Library Learning Commons project. The plaza, which is on the north side of Love Library, includes three methods to help redirect rainfall into the ground and away from storm sewers.
